About the Job:

As part of the Global Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) organization, the Applications Engineering group is a globally-networked team of engineers and scientists that utilizes the full range of products in the MilliporeSigma Process Solutions toolbox to evaluate bioprocesses to enable the most effective implementation at all scales. Through rigorous experimental and theoretical analysis, we provide expert technical recommendations, best practices, and holistic solutions to enable our customers' successful and efficient bioprocessing.

The current open position will focus specifically on cell culture media and upstream bioprocessing to support customer applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operational status of the cell culture laboratory, as well as assisting in generating scientific collateral for our portfolio of upstream products and equipment. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions. The employee will be responsible for maintaining thorough records of experimental data and must be able to interpret results during testing. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to complete his/her job functions with minimal supervision. This is an contract position with potential for extension, based on future business needs.

For consideration you must have-

--A candidate working towards an Associate or Bachelor Degree in engineering or life sciences; a recent bachelor's-level graduate in one of these fields with 0-2 years experience is a plus.

--Good aseptic technique; previous experience with mammalian cell culture maintenance, expansion, cell counting and titer determination

--Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

--Ability to read and interpret technical data.

--Ability to read, write, and follow SOPs and test methods in English.

--Ability to periodically come into the lab on weekends to sample and maintain in-process bioreactors is required.

--Ability to perform repetitive tasks including frequent hand and finger manipulations.
